ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for management and communications with suppliers. This includes tracking outputs, capacity planning, and continuous communication with suppliers, who may be international.

• Provide a master schedule to production by line and by product
• Daily communication with planners to avoid any supplier shortage
• Trouble shoot SAP issues as necessary
• Work with aftersales for demands and relay build needs to Production Scheduler.
• Ensure the master schedule is loaded into SAP properly, accurately and timely fashion, running the MPS so that supplier schedules can be distributed.
• Lead production meeting reporting for assigned BU.
• Track productions performance to the master schedule and take corrective actions as required.
• Responsible for maintaining finished goods inventory levels at target and inventory accuracy
• Establish daily production planning in line with cost effective runs mutually accepted plan.

• Trouble shoot SAP issues as necessary
• Release material against blanket purchase orders (Domestic and International Suppliers) to support production schedule as well as pass-thru business. Communicate schedule updates with suppliers on a regular basis.
• Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production levels.
• Track Supplier delivery performance and follow up on past due suppliers. Drive corrective action with all late suppliers.
• Communicate information as required to departments and personnel within the company.
• Work to drive out root causes of inventory inaccuracy, with the goal of improving overall system reliability.
• Manage part shortage report on daily basis and report as necessary in production meeting.
• Follow-up and expedite materials as needed to meet customer requirements
• Reduce excess inventory to increase inventory turns.
• Work with the logistics coordinator to reduce freight costs.
• Planners are responsible for proposing process improvements and the generation or management of key reports and metrics.
Deliver
• Responsible for monitoring the daily incoming EDI.
• Daily communication with planners to avoid any supplier shortage
• Minimize any premium freight impacts.
• Set up new customer scheduling agreements and part numbers according to internal order from sales.
• Check the customer demand compare to the capacity contracted and alert if the demand is over MCR.
• Develop partnership with customer.
• Work with shipping to ensure all customer requirements are clearly understood and met.
• Set up expedites to the customer as required and communicate with Transportation Company to preclude delays in transit.
• Maintain all customer systems (Covisint, DDL, Smart, Supply Power)
• Responsible for monitoring customer orders and communicate any significant fluctuations. Negotiate any premium expenses with the customer that may result from customer order changes.
• Trouble shoot SAP issues as necessary.
• Analyze customer releases for short term changes and long term forecast.
• Responsible for the relationship with the customer material planner and prompt responses to all customer requests. Each customer has unique requirements that must be followed. Reference individual customer work instructions for daily tasks.
Pre-production
• Receive customer PO thru sales organization and/or customer integrated release engineer.
• Analyze the customer deviation.
• Define and responsible for the production planning for the finished goods pre production parts in line with the program time line.
• Send the release to the suppliers for the pre production parts without a scheduling agreement (SA).
• Responsible for the availability of the pre production parts from suppliers to meet the production plan.
• Responsible for accurate inventory of all supplier pre production parts in house.
• Establish lead time and communicate material delivery target date.
• Responsible for fulfilling the logistics checklist for each gate of the new program.
• Interface with the logistics department about packaging definition and line side lay out.
• Interface with customer receiving areas as needed.
• Perform all necessary SAP transactions (material movements, sales orders, shipping etc).
• Trouble shoot SAP issues as necessary.
• Establish cost effective shipment method for pre production parts.
• Responsible for roll out of supplier expectations – Logistics manual, understanding releases, shipment guidelines.
• Establish program ramp up plan that supports production for distribution to suppliers.
• Travel to suppliers as needed.
• Reporting of Logistics progress toward program milestones/gates to management.
• Responsible for ensuring proper hand off of part responsibility to Production Planners.
• Liaison to external departments for pre production activities.
