About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Business Systems to build and lead the systems, processes, and technology foundation that enables our company to scale.
As we grow, the complexity of our business is increasing across GTM, Accounting&Finance;, Data team and Operations. This role will own the strategy and execution for the business applications and workflows that connect these teams, ensuring our systems are scalable, integrated, secure, and designed around how the business actually operates.
You will be responsible for defining our business systems roadmap, building a high-performing team, improving core enterprise platforms, driving automation and AI adoption, and partnering closely with business leaders to translate operational needs into durable systems and processes.
A key part of this role will be establishing how AI tools and AI-enabled capabilities integrate into the broader enterprise technology ecosystem. You will evaluate, implement, and govern AI tooling that improves employee productivity, automates business workflows, and extends the capabilities of existing enterprise applications while ensuring appropriate security, data, and governance standards.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role for someone who can operate at both the strategic and execution level: setting architecture and governance standards while also driving complex transformation programs to completion.
What You’ll Own
Business Systems Strategy & Architecture
• Define and own the company-wide business systems strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap.
• Establish a scalable application ecosystem across core functions starting with centralized finance and connect upper stream and down stream applications.
• Evaluate when to buy, build, consolidate, integrate, or retire systems.
• Develop standards for system architecture, integrations, data ownership, automation, and application lifecycle management.
• Define an enterprise approach for evaluating and integrating AI tools, AI-enabled applications, and agentic capabilities into the business systems architecture.
• Ensure the technology stack evolves ahead of the company's growth rather than becoming a constraint on it.
Enterprise Applications
• Own the portfolio of critical business applications, which may include platforms such as Oracle Netsuite, Ironclad, Ramp, and other related systems.
• Establish clear platform ownership, governance, administration, development, and support models.
• Improve reliability, usability, scalability, and adoption of business-critical systems.
• Partner with Security and IT to ensure appropriate access controls, compliance, resilience, and vendor risk management.
• Establish standards for the adoption and administration of AI-enabled features and third-party AI tools connected to enterprise applications and company data.
Business Process & Automation
• Partner with functional leaders to redesign workflows and eliminate unnecessary operational complexity.
• Identify opportunities to automate high-volume or manual processes using workflow platforms, APIs, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate and implement AI tooling, including AI assistants, copilots, intelligent workflow automation, and agentic solutions, where they can materially improve productivity, decision-making, or operational efficiency.
• Build reusable integration and automation capabilities rather than isolated point solutions.
• Establish metrics for process efficiency, system adoption, automation coverage, AI tooling adoption and impact, and operational quality.
Data & Integration
• Create a coherent integration strategy across enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Improve the consistency and reliability of core business data across systems.
• Establish clear systems of record, data ownership, and governance for critical business entities such as customers, products, employees, contracts, and financial data.
• Define how AI tools and agents securely access, use, and interact with enterprise data, APIs, and systems of record.
• Partner with Data and Analytics teams to ensure operational systems produce trusted, accessible data for reporting and decision-making.
Transformation Programs
• Lead major cross-functional systems initiatives such as CRM transformation, quote-to-cash, lead-to-revenue, procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire, financial systems modernization, AI-enabled workflow transformation, or global expansion.
• Develop clear business cases, program plans, governance structures, and success metrics for major investments.
• Coordinate stakeholders across business functions, Engineering, IT, Security, Finance, and external implementation partners.
• Ensure programs deliver measurable business outcomes, not simply technology deployments.
Team Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing Business Systems organization spanning platform owners, business systems analysts, developers, architects, and program managers.
• Define the operating model, organizational structure, and capabilities needed as the company scales.
• Hire, develop, and retain exceptional systems talent.
• Build AI fluency within the Business Systems organization and establish the technical capabilities required to evaluate, integrate, and operate AI-enabled solutions.
• Create a culture of strong ownership, customer orientation, technical excellence, and pragmatic execution.
Vendor & Investment Management
• Own or influence a significant portfolio of enterprise software and services spend.
• Live with Finance, Procurement, partner with Security, and Legal on vendor selection, negotiation, implementation, and renewal.
• Evaluate AI technology vendors and platforms based on business value, integration capabilities, data security, governance, scalability, and total cost of ownership.
• Rationalize overlapping tools and improve return on technology investment.
• Develop investment frameworks that balance speed, scalability, control, and total cost of ownership.

What We’re Looking For
• 12+ years of experience across Business Systems, Enterprise Applications, IT, Business Technology, or related functions.
• 5+ years leading teams in a rapidly growing or complex enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale enterprise application portfolios and transformation initiatives.
• Deep experience with one or more major enterprise platforms such as Salesforce,, NetSuite, Oracle, Billing platforms, or comparable systems.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, APIs, workflow automation, identity, data governance, and SaaS operating models.
• Experience evaluating, implementing, and integrating AI tools or AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications and business workflows.
• Understanding of the architecture and governance considerations associated with enterprise AI, including data access, APIs, permissions, security, human-in-the-loop controls, and AI agent integration.
• Experience designing and improving end-to-end business processes across multiple functions.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and translate business strategy into systems and operational capabilities.
• Strong program management and change management skills.
• Experience managing systems integrators, consultants, software vendors, and significant technology budgets.
• Ability to move fluidly between executive-level strategy, architecture decisions, organizational design, and hands-on problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience scaling business systems through periods of rapid headcount, geographic, product, or revenue growth.
• Experience supporting a public company or organizations operating with SOX or similar regulatory requirements.
• Experience with modern integration and automation platforms and AI tools.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms, AI assistants/copilots, agentic workflows, or AI orchestration technologies.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and architectures.
• Experience introducing AI-enabled automation into enterprise workflows.
• Experience developing governance, security, and operating standards for AI tools connected to enterprise systems and data.
• Experience supporting international operations, M&A; integration, or multi-entity environments.

Reporting & Scope
This role will report to the Head of Finance and Operations and will partner closely with leaders across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, People, Legal, Security, Data, and Engineering.
The role will lead the Business Systems / Enterprise Applications organization and will be responsible for a portfolio of critical enterprise applications, integrations, automation platforms, AI tooling, and transformation programs.
