Lead Hardware Engineer – Inverter and Motor Control Systems Hardware Design Engineer
Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Lead Hardware Engineer for Inverter and Motor Control Systems, you will drive the design and development of advanced automotive power electronics hardware. With 6 - 10 years of senior/lead-level experience, you will serve as the primary technical interface for external stakeholders, ECU customer teams, and functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary technical interface for external stakeholders, ECU customer teams, and functional teams to manage motor control, thermal, reliability, and software interfaces
• Lead requirement studies, define hardware architecture, and design/modify robust circuits for automotive power electronics products
• Develop and optimize motor control and inverter circuits, including gate drivers, DC-link capacitor sizing, power supply modules, and sensor interfaces
• Design advanced power electronics systems, including buck/boost converters, LDOs, power budgeting, thermal calculations, and thermal simulations
• Architect low-voltage (<100V) and high-voltage (up to 800V) power supply modules, including PFC, Flyback converters, complex isolation concepts, and grounding topologies
• Conduct schematic design and review, manage BOM/EBOM, and oversee multi-layer PCB layout reviews
• Perform complex circuit calculations using tools such as Mathcad and advanced circuit simulations using MATLAB, PSpice, and LTspice
• Lead laboratory testing, measurements, debugging, and validation of prototype ECUs
• Apply analog and digital circuit design principles, Worst-Case Analysis (WCA), DFMEA/FMEA, EMC design principles, and Functional Safety (ISO 26262) in compliance with automotive standards
• Partner closely with internal customers, system engineering, and software teams to address and resolve complex ECU design and integration issues
