Job Description

This opportunity is for Nielsen’s Gracenote division - the premier entertainment metadata company in the world, powering the search, discovery, and navigation systems for the globe's biggest tech, automotive, and media giants.

As entertainment becomes more fragmented and AI reshapes the way people discover and engage with content, trusted data and technology are powering the future and are the foundation for better experiences.  In partnership with our clients and by fully embracing AI, we are reinventing the business, products and teams to capture a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity which will significantly impact the media and entertainment ecosystem as a whole.

Gracenote's identifiers and normalized metadata have powered content identification, search, and discovery across the media ecosystem for decades. We are now extending that structured foundation from the title level down to the scene, chapter, and clip level, using multimodal AI to derive rich, queryable understanding directly from video.

We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to support this team and own go-to-market for the portfolio end to end: the portfolio narrative, the segment-level positioning, the launches, the enablement, and the market intelligence that shapes how we go to market. This is a build-it role, not a maintain-it role. You will help shape a market while it is still forming, and most of what exists twelve months from now will be work you created.

Responsibilities:

Positioning, narrative, and messaging

• Category definition. Author the market narrative for scene-level video intelligence: the problem, why now, why a shared platform beats point solutions, and why Gracenote is uniquely positioned to provide it.

• Segment-level value propositions. Translate one platform story into distinct, credible propositions for platform and distribution buyers, content owners, and the advertising ecosystem, each with its own economics, buying committee, and proof points.

• Messaging architecture. Build and maintain the messaging house, proof-point library, and terminology standards, and hold the organization to consistent language across product, sales, partnerships, and corporate marketing.

Market, customer, and competitive intelligence

• Competitive program. Maintain a living view of AI video-understanding vendors, platform-native capabilities, and adjacent metadata and ad-tech players. Frame the platform-versus-toolkit distinction in terms buyers actually feel: time to value, integration cost, and cost of ownership at full catalog scale.

• Voice of the customer. Run a structured discovery cadence with prospects, design partners, and internal commercial teams. Convert conversations into documented segment insight rather than anecdote.

• Market requirements. Feed evidence-based requirements and prioritization input to product, and co-author market requirements documents that connect capability to demand.

Launch and lifecycle

• Launch ownership. Own launch strategy and execution across the portfolio: tiering, readiness criteria, cross-functional plans, internal and external timing, and post-launch measurement.

• Early-access and design-partner motion. Build the collateral and narrative that make early-stage, pre-GA capabilities credible to sophisticated partners, including partner-facing decks, evaluation frameworks, success criteria, and reference stories.

• Adoption and iteration. Track adoption after launch, identify where the story is not landing, and drive the fixes.

Commercial enablement

• Sales and partnership readiness. Produce the pitch narratives, first-call decks, battlecards, demo storylines, one-pagers, FAQ libraries, and objection-handling guidance the commercial teams need to run without you in the room.

• Technical and trust objections. Own the buyer-facing answers to the questions that stall deals: content rights and permitted use, model training boundaries, retention, tenant isolation, explainability, and classification accuracy. Partner with product, legal, and security to keep those answers current and defensible.

• Deal support. Partner directly on strategic and design-partner opportunities where the narrative is still being invented.

Market presence and thought leadership

• Analyst and industry relations. Brief analysts, shape the coverage of an emerging category, and represent the portfolio at industry events.

• Content and demand. Work with corporate marketing and demand generation on campaigns, web content, bylines, webinars, and case studies that build category awareness and pipeline.
