Corporate Development
Job Description
What is Kalshi?
Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history, is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.
We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.
• Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet.
• Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.
Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.
Role Roadmap
As part of the Corp Dev / BD team at Kalshi, you'll help identify and execute the strategic opportunities that can accelerate the company's growth. You'll work directly with leadership to evaluate where Kalshi should build, buy, partner, or expand - from acquisitions and strategic investments to partnerships, new markets, and distribution opportunities. You'll be responsible for finding the right opportunities, developing the business case, and driving them from initial conversation through execution.
What You'll Do
• Identify and evaluate M&A;, strategic investment, partnership, and other business development opportunities
• Build relationships with founders, financial institutions, fintech companies, technology platforms, investors, and other strategic partners
• Develop business cases, financial models, and strategic analyses to evaluate potential transactions and partnerships
• Lead opportunities from initial sourcing and outreach through diligence, negotiation, execution, and launch
• Partner directly with the executive team to evaluate new markets, products, geographies, and strategic initiatives
• Develop clear build, buy, or partner recommendations based on financial, strategic, and operational considerations
• Coordinate cross-functional diligence and execution across Finance, Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Operations
• Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions
• Build and maintain a pipeline of companies, partners, and opportunities that could be strategically valuable to Kalshi
• Track market developments, competitors, and emerging trends across trading, fintech, payments, financial infrastructure, and adjacent markets
• Support post-transaction integration and help ensure strategic partnerships and acquisitions deliver against their objectives
What You Bring
• 6+ years of experience in corporate development, business development, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, strategy, or a related field
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience evaluating complex strategic or transaction opportunities
• Experience sourcing, negotiating, or executing M&A;, investments, partnerships, or other strategic transactions
• Excellent judgment - able to quickly understand a business or opportunity and identify the factors that matter most
• Strong commercial instincts and comfort negotiating with sophisticated counterparties
• Experience working directly with senior leadership and communicating complex analysis in a clear, concise way
• Ability to build relationships with founders, executives, investors, and strategic partners
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with limited process and a lot of ambiguity
• High level of ownership and the ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects from idea through execution
• Familiarity with trading, fintech, financial services, payments, crypto, or regulated businesses is a plus
