About the Role
This position is on the Workforce team, focusing on a cloud-hosted Delinea Platform service named Session Recording. As a Senior .NET Software Engineer, you will architect and deliver RESTful APIs and background workers using the latest versions of .NET, deploying and operating these services within Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, you will have an active voice in architectural direction, technical decision-making, and the ongoing evolution of the Delinea Platform.
What You’ll Do
You will architect, develop, test, and maintain high-performance .NET services, including RESTful APIs and background workers, ensuring alignment with enterprise cloud and security standards. You will also take full ownership of service deployment, configuration, and operational health in Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure, covering resource allocation, horizontal scaling, and observability.
In collaboration with architects, product managers, and DevOps engineers, you will define service roadmaps, establish API contracts, and guide technical decisions from design through to production. You will design and document service architectures that communicate across multiple internal Delinea systems, prioritizing reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
You will lead code and design reviews to promote best practices in distributed systems, security, and clean architecture. Additionally, you will contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and integrate AI-driven development tools and coding assistants into your day-to-day workflow to accelerate delivery and improve productivity.
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on modern .NET and C#.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating RESTful APIs and background worker services in production environments.
• Proven experience deploying and operating microservices in Kubernetes, including writing manifests, managing workloads, and diagnosing cluster issues.
• Practical proficiency with Microsoft Azure, including cloud-native architecture, Azure-native services, and infrastructure best practices.
• Strong grounding in microservices architecture, distributed systems design patterns, and secure inter-service communication.
• Excellent analytical troubleshooting and communication skills, with a track record of effective collaboration in an Agile environment.
Nice to Have
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude, or Codex) to enhance engineering workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, for provisioning and managing Azure infrastructure.
• Familiarity with modern observability platforms like Datadog or Grafana, including structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing.
