Job Description

Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.

The Waymo Safety team works to promote and help to continuously improve the safety of Waymo’s fully autonomous driving technology. Our experts develop safety goals and strategies, and conduct safety engineering analyses to ensure safety is being considered throughout the design and development of our vehicles. The team develops and promotes safety strategies and policies for autonomous vehicles for its work with regulatory authorities, lawmakers, law enforcement and public and non-profit organizations. Our Safety Team also helps advise on compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Environment, Health and Safety Manager.

You will:

• Provide Tactical Site Oversight: Maintain a highly-visible presence across Waymo's critical operations sites in the assigned market to ensure facilities run smoothly 24/7/365, and the physical environment remains safe, functional, compliant, and mission-ready.

• Ensure Service Delivery & Critical Uptime: Drive end-to-end facilities operations service delivery across the assigned market, ensuring high standards of execution that meet critical uptime SLAs.

• Manage Budget & Resource Optimization: Oversee and optimize the local facilities budget, operational resources, and space utilization within the assigned market, ensuring that daily maintenance and space utilization adjustments do not disrupt business-critical operations.

• Serve as the Local Stakeholder POC: Act as the primary local facilities liaison and build strong partnerships with local market teams (including Fleet Operations, Security, and EHS) and site leads to resolve daily operational friction and align facilities with business needs.

• Govern Onsite Vendors & Service Contracts: Provide direct, "on-the-ground" governance and oversight of the contracted Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) service provider, monitoring performance against SLAs and scorecards to immediately correct service gaps.

• Support Process & Operational Reporting: Implement and manage local facility dashboards and reporting workflows to analyze site performance data, measure key success metrics, and support high-volume site operations and space utilization.

You have:

• BA/BS degree in a related field such as Facilities Management, Business Management, or Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).

• 10+ years of account management, outsourcing management, or facilities operations experience with a track record of managing multi-site portfolios at an L6/manager level.

• Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, service delivery contracts, and third-party vendor performance.

• Deep understanding of technological advances, change management, organizational leadership, and compliance requirements, and how each supports/drives workplace and facilities strategies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present in formal settings and adapt communication to articulate program goals to a wide audience in a simple, straightforward way.

• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule in the assigned market location and travel between multiple local site locations within the market area.

We prefer:

• Certification or Industry Designation in Project Management, Engineering, or Facilities Services (e.g., CFM, FMP, CPM, PMP).

• Experience in high-velocity logistics, automotive, tech-manufacturing, or mixed-use environments (office, industrial, labs, and depots), effectively balancing facilities needs between corporate environments and operational/testing sites.

• Experience operating within highly vendorized facilities environments, with a focus on establishing scalable and nimble service strategies.

• Strong business acumen and experience collaborating with a diverse set of local site leads, business units, and partners (Legal, Finance, Sourcing, Security).

• Familiarity with the assigned market, including local real estate trends, regulatory environment, and regional vendor networks.

• Demonstrable project management skills, with the ability to advance projects with undefined scope, influence stakeholders, and align cross-functional teams.

Travel Requirements:

• This role is expected to travel approximately 20%
