Responsabilities

• Provide guidance, support, review and constructive challenge as required for the process of identification, assessment, and documentation of operational risks across key business areas

• Analyse internal processes to detect potential weaknesses or vulnerabilities and drive improvements of areas identified

• Prepare and deliver where required detailed risk reports on a regular and ad hoc basis for senior leadership, risk committees, and regulatory bodies, highlighting risk trends, control effectiveness, and areas requiring attention.

• Maintain the risk register (including event logging and investigation, categorisation, and root-cause analysis, mitigation), ensuring it is comprehensive, up-to-date, and aligned with the organisation's risk framework.

• Support regular reviews of the operational risk management framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
 


Understanding of Risk Management assessment methodologies and frameworks.

• Ideally 5+ years' experience in a 1st/2nd line role in financial services with a focus on Operational Risk.


Experience with operational risk event management, including incident identification, registration, management, escalation, and remediation/action tracking.


Familiarity with the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process.

• Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application to automate manual steps within Operational Risk processes, with a continuous improvement mindset.


Strong written and verbal skills & confidence and experience of Microsoft Office tools.


Excellent stakeholder management skills, ability to liaise across risk, compliance, and IT teams.


Experience in a professional services (consulting, financial services etc) is a plus


Professional qualification (IRM/FRM) is a plus
