Job Description

sweetgreen is on a mission to build healthy communities by connecting people to real food. We passionately believe that real food should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Every day in each sweetgreen, team members make food from scratch, using fresh ingredients and produce delivered that morning. And in our local communities, we're committed to leaving people better than we found them. We're in the business of feeding people, and we're out to change what that means.

The Senior Video Editor sits on the Commercial team and owns the craft and quality of the video, photo, and motion content that brings sweetgreen to life across social, web, and brand channels. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role for an accomplished multimedia creator who sets the editorial bar for the team, moving fluidly between high-volume production and culturally relevant content for our social platforms. You will act as the go-to expert on post-production, partnering closely with our designers, social, and brand leads to shape briefs into platform-native content, capturing moments in our restaurants and in culture, and raising the craft, consistency, and efficiency of how the team produces work.

You will:

Own video editing and post-production across social, web, digital, and brand channels, from first assembly through final delivery, serving as the team's craft expert

Set the creative and technical bar for editorial work, defining the pacing, tone, music, sound design, and visual rhythm of sweetgreen content

Independently translate briefs, scripts, and raw footage into clear, engaging narratives, exercising strong editorial judgment on approach and method

Lead the development of hero edits, campaign films, social-first content, cutdowns, trailers, recaps, and internal storytelling from concept through finish

Partner with creative and production leads before shoots to shape coverage, shot lists, formats, and post-production needs

Create and evolve advanced motion graphics, typography, animation, and branded graphic systems

Own finishing standards, including color correction, sound mixing, music, captions, quality control, and final exports

Define and maintain efficient post-production workflows, templates, naming conventions, and asset-management systems for the broader team

Mentor and give creative direction to junior editors, freelancers, and production partners, reviewing work and elevating overall craft

Manage multiple concurrent projects and rounds of feedback while holding a consistently high bar for quality

Stay ahead of emerging editing styles, platform behaviors, cultural moments, and new production tools, and bring recommendations back to the team

Desired traits:

A master storyteller fluent in video and visual content with authoritative creative judgment

A self-starter who works independently and raises the bar for the people around them

Able to articulate ideas and editorial choices with a clear rationale that ties back to strategy

Highly collaborative and comfortable guiding creative leads, cross-functional teams, and outside partners

Organized and adaptable, able to manage high-volume, ambiguous work without losing quality

A trusted resource others turn to for craft, process, and problem-solving

A passion for food, culture, sustainability, and brand building

Desired experience:

6+ years producing multimedia content, preferably in-house or agency

Demonstrated ownership of high-visibility video and photo work for social and brand channels

Proven ability to shoot and edit video and photo across formats and platforms

Advanced motion design and animation skills (After Effects or similar)

Deep proficiency in Premiere Pro and the Adobe suite

Experience setting standards and workflows or mentoring other creators is a plus
